• Powder Type: Spherical (ball) smokeless powder

• Base: Double-base

• Burn Rate: Very fast (among the fastest pistol powders on Hodgdon’s burn rate chart)

• Primary Applications: Handgun/pistol reloading (popular for 9mm Luger, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP) and high-volume progressive press loading

• Container Sizes: Available in 1 lb (454g / 14 oz) and 8 lb containers (varies by region/retailer) [1, 2, 3]

Performance Characteristics

• Low Charge Weight: Requires minimal grains per load, making containers last longer.

• Position Insensitivity: Unaffected by the position of the powder inside large cases (such as .45 Colt or .357 Magnum), maintaining uniform velocity whether the powder rests against the primer or forward near the bullet.

• Ignition: Provides flawless ignition across all primer types, including lead-free variants.

• Ballistics: Clean-burning under proper pressure, with a mild muzzle report and uniform ballistics.

User Insights & Community Feedback

• Reloading Press Performance: Users on forums like The Firing Line express mixed opinions regarding application limits; while it flows exceptionally well through mechanical measures and is widely favoured for standard 9mm range plinking, operators warn that its fast burn rate leaves a very small margin for error, making double-charging dangerous in progressive presses.
